Course Description:
An exploratory course in the basic techniques of painting. Students continue to develop skills in drawing and painting from observation. Media explored may include acrylic paints, oil paints, graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor, pastel and mixed media. Subjects include still life, landscape, portraits, and abstract design. Students are introduced to the work of artists from around the world representing various times throughout history. They will work to understand art as a process and form of visual communication. Topics also include design principles, visual literacy, personal expression, creative strategies, and ideation.
Before Enrolling in Painting 1&2:
Complete Freehand Drawing 1&2 with a grade of an A or B
OR
