Welcome to my teacher page! I have been teaching art for seven years, and this is my fourth year at San Marcos. I grew up in Santa Barbara and attended San Marcos as a student before attending the College of Creative Studies at UCSB, where I earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting. I currently teach Freehand Drawing, Painting and AP Studio Art at San Marcos.
My greatest goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to be truly passionate about creating art. I aim to create projects that are engaging, challenging, and culturally relevant, and that allow students the artistic freedom to develop their own personal aesthetic and artistic voice.
In addition to teaching art, I also teach AVID and serve as our school's culturally proficiency coordinator, which involves organizing programs to make San Marcos a more inclusive and equitable campus. When I'm not teaching or creating my own paintings, I enjoy surfing, kiteboarding, snowboarding and traveling.
